Physiotherapy Services
Musculoskeletal ill health such as neck and back pain are one of the leading causes of absence from work. We support businesses in preventing and managing physical ill health which can affect employee work fitness.
Reporting of mild and chronic pain in the working population has become even more common in recent years, with musculoskeletal injuries and disorders affecting 1 in 3 UK adults. Our specialist team of occupational health physiotherapists can support your business to prevent the risk of injury and help staff return to or remain at work with evidence-based treatment and specific work-related advice. Prompt and successful management of musculoskeletal disorders ultimately leads to reduced sickness absence, boosted productivity and improved staff retention.

Rapid access to physiotherapy care for employees
When an employee reports they are unable to perform their job role due to a musculoskeletal issue or injury, it can be difficult to find a rapid assessment and solution that causes minimal business disruption. Long NHS waiting lists can have a huge impact on both the employee’s health and the employer’s ability to maintain their normal business function.
Our occupational physiotherapy provides rapid access to a team of industry-leading physiotherapists who are able to diagnose, manage and treat musculoskeletal injuries offering rehabilitation and guidance to prevent reoccurrence. Our individually tailored care follows a full assessment, and may include strengthening exercises, hands-on manual physio, sports massage, joint mobilisation, electrotherapy, K-taping, acupuncture, ergonomic advice and pain management.
If required, after assessment we can create a tailored return to work plan that supports the individual’s return to their work duties safely and appropriately at the right pace. Our physios will also provide feedback and functional recommendations to line managers about the individual such as sitting tolerance, standing tolerance, ability to work high and low and lifting capabilities.
How can physiotherapy support employee health and wellbeing?
Common workplace complaints include back pain, stiff necks, painful sprains, aching shoulders, sore upper backs, joint pain, muscle strains and recurring headaches. Work related symptoms are seen repeatedly in manual labour roles, but also frequently in office based and home working roles. Any of these musculoskeletal issues, whether they were linked to work or activities outside of work, will inevitably lead to reduced performance and productivity, or an increased risk of absence, resulting in challenges delivering work goals and targets.
Our expert network of Response physiotherapists provides fast access to diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation, to support employees back to health and back to work. We provide bespoke plans for businesses, who can select from onsite physiotherapy to virtual and clinic-based physiotherapy clinics. Our Chartered physios can also provide expert training to your line managers and employees as a significant part of your company’s physical and mental wellbeing strategy.

‘Right Clinician, First Time’
Virtual / Telephone
We provide virtual consultations for convenient fast access to an experienced physiotherapist. The video call allows us to complete a visual and verbal assessment of the employee. In our experience approximately 40% of musculoskeletal conditions can be managed virtually, utilising in depth expert advice and the prescription of appropriate exercises.
The clinician will talk through each exercise and will design a tailored programme around the outcome of the assessment with instructional videos on how to complete each one correctly.
Onsite
We can visit your work premises to deliver face-to-face clinics at your location. This enables your employees’ to access rapid treatment and advice for their musculoskeletal issues which may be impacting their work performance and mental health.
Onsite physio clinics reduce to need for employees to travel off site for appointments which can provide significant savings. It also allows us to complete assessments directly where work related issues have been reported, such as computer workstations, production lines, and storerooms/warehouse. We can then provide appropriate guidance to employees and employers as to how to prevent similar issues occurring in the future.
